Meet The TK x Salty Aura Rug — a meaningful recycled cotton throw rug created in collaboration with Western Australian artist Tahnee Kelland and designed exclusively for Salty Aura.
Featuring the words “I didn’t come this far just to come this far,” this design is about backing yourself and remembering everything you've already made it through. It’s a little reminder to celebrate your strength, your resilience and the absolute badass you’ve become along the way.
Tahnee Kelland is a painter and muralist from Mandurah, Western Australia, whose work we have loved for years. We actually purchased one of Tahnee's original artworks over four years ago, and it still hangs above our bed today. Tahnee painted this design exclusively for Salty Aura, bringing her distinctive style and message to one of our signature woven rugs. You can also shop the print on her website.
Woven from 100% recycled cotton, the rug has a reversible woven design with contrasting colours on the reverse, giving you two different looks in one.
The TK x Salty Aura Rug is made to be used, not tucked away. Throw it over the couch or across the end of your bed, take it outside as a picnic rug or beach blanket, or roll it up and chuck it in the back of the car as a camping blanket for weekends away, caravanning and road trips.

When will my order be posted
Your order will be dispatched from South Australia within 2-3 business days.
What are the care instructions for the rug?
Spot clean when possible. Hand wash in cold, soapy water and hang to dry. Avoid harsh detergents and fabric softness. Avoid machine washing, but If its necessary use a delicate cycle. The rug may shrink 10% once washed, but will expand again after use. They soften with each wash like other throw blankets. The rugs are woven, so be careful when using around sharp objects (pointy rings, car keys etc) so you don't pull any threads. Some people use them on the ground to brighten up their room, however please don't vacuum the rugs.

Salty Aura was the first of its kind to turn the humble indoor throw into an everyday outdoor essential. We began designing woven throw rugs in Australia in 2018 after we struggled to find colourful, versatile throws we wanted to take travelling ourselves. What started as a rug for our own road trips has grown into more than 50 original Salty Aura designs, used in homes, vans, campsites and on adventures across Australia.
Our throws are woven from 100% recycled cotton and designed to move easily between home and the outdoors. From couches and beds to beach days, picnics, camping and road trips.
