Meet The Remy Rug — a Moroccan-inspired recycled cotton throw rug designed in Australia by Salty Aura.
Woven from 100% recycled cotton, The Remy Rug is a little nod to a place that has always been special to us. Morocco and its incredible textiles inspired the very first Salty Aura design, and after finally travelling there ourselves, it was every bit as beautiful as we'd imagined. The Remy brings that inspiration to life.
PLEASE NOTE — The Remy has been specially designed to create a 3D textured effect, so from a distance it can almost look like a traditional wool pile rug. Up close, the woven pattern can appear slightly pixelated — this is intentional and part of what creates its unique textured illusion.
Its reversible woven design features contrasting colours on the reverse, giving you two different looks in one.
The Remy is just as at home thrown over the couch as it is packed into the back of the car. Style it as a throw rug or bed throw to bring pattern and personality into your home, take it outside as a picnic rug or beach blanket, or pack it as a camping blanket for weekends away, caravanning and road trips.

When will my order be posted
Your order will be dispatched from South Australia within 2-3 business days.
What are the care instructions for the rug?
Spot clean when possible. Hand wash in cold, soapy water and hang to dry. Avoid harsh detergents and fabric softness. Avoid machine washing, but If its necessary use a delicate cycle. The rug may shrink 10% once washed, but will expand again after use. They soften with each wash like other throw blankets. The rugs are woven, so be careful when using around sharp objects (pointy rings, car keys etc) so you don't pull any threads. Some people use them on the ground to brighten up their room, however please don't vacuum the rugs.

Salty Aura was the first of its kind to turn the humble indoor throw into an everyday outdoor essential. We began designing woven throw rugs in Australia in 2018 after we struggled to find colourful, versatile throws we wanted to take travelling ourselves. What started as a rug for our own road trips has grown into more than 50 original Salty Aura designs, used in homes, vans, campsites and on adventures across Australia.
Our throws are woven from 100% recycled cotton and designed to move easily between home and the outdoors. From couches and beds to beach days, picnics, camping and road trips.
